Apart from the standardized services of project development or evaluation, MAP developed a specialized service of support to implement service learning

Support for the development of Partnerships between CSOs and Academic Institutions in Service Learningthis call for applications is open until April 5, 2017, and aims to contribute to overall community development by means of co-operation between academic institutions and civil society organizations and to entice employment upon completion of academic studies. The Contracting authority is the Government’s office for Civil Society Organizations.

  • Size of the envelope for this Call: 27.000.000 kn
  • Minimum and maximum grant size: 500.000 kn – 1.200.000 kn
  • Co-financing requirement: none
  • Eligible applicants: civil society organizations
  • Mandatory eligible partners: public higher education institutions in Croatia or public scientific institutes in Croatia
  • Other non-mandatory eligible partners: cities, municipalities, counties and other civil society organizations from Croatia
  • Duration of projects: 12-24 months

Apart from the standardized services of the EU project proposal development or quality control or project evaluations, MAP developed a specialized service of support to academic institutions and CSOs with a limited knowledge and understanding of the concept and practice of service learning.

The service includes the following components:

  1. Design and implementation of a specialized education activity aiming to increase the capacities of teaching staff of academic institutions and employees in CSOs in service learning implementation, with an additional training of CSOs in advocacy skills
  2. Support in preparing individualized mentorship programs for academic institutions
  3. Orientation session for students involved in the mentorship program
  4. Support in establishing the mentorship program
  5. Final impact evaluation of the mentorship program on stakeholders.

This service aims to ensure the highest possible quality of the mentorship program for students, simultaneously creating preconditions for sustainability of the programs, by means of capacitated academic staff and CSO representatives.
